Tis’ the season

It’s a few days until Christmas. You’ve probably already made your Christmas pudding, ordered your turkey and are about to buy your veg!

Food waste is not seasonal, it happens everyday of the year. However, there are times when the problem increases significantly. Christmas is one of those times, where we buy all the above, and eat until our stomachs cannot take it any longer. There will inevitably be enough leftovers for our turkey sandwiches on Boxing Day! If only we could actually consume all those sandwiches. For the past few years, we have been warned of the amount of food we throw away as a nation: £64million worth of food in one day or 4 million Christmas dinners – that’s a lot by anyone’s standards! It’s facts and figures like these that make us use surplus fruits in our cordials.

So, the question is, how can you make your Christmas a food sustainable one with as little food waste as possible?? Here are our tips:
